I thought it would be a good idea to write about this particular track.
Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas - Let Me Hear
This song I heard originally on an anime opening. Parasyte -the maxim-. Which is absolutely amazing by the way.
I had heard of the band before, I remember having a bit of their music on my harddrive that a friend gave me.
The song starts off with small beat and just vocals - synth vocals. I personall am not a fan of synth, however I find it works perfectly in this song. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think it fits. I think it would sound rather strange if it wasn't. It is a nice contrast to the growling/screaming. Adds energy to the tune as a whole.
The song breaks up, which is nice. It stops the synth vocals from being too much. It is interesting that three of the band members are doing the vocals. I find nothing wrong with this at all. There is no point in a vocalist straining their voices to sound a certain way. Stick to what you are good at and are comfortable with.
I love the breakdown. When it just turns into heavy guitar chugging and drums.
The whole song just keeps you moving. For example, if this was played at a concert or something - people would dance through the whole thing. Dancedancedance. The energy continues through the whole song, the tempo changes and the style changes., but the energy is constant.
I don't remember why I stopped listening to this band. I really should get back to it. Haha!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I have! Try the anime - it is amazing!
I decided to write about this on the spur of the moment.
I was on facebook and the Disturbed page posted this video and I just had to write about it!
Disturbed - The Sound of Silence
This happens to be one of my favourite songs of Simon and Garfunkel and I am overjoyed that one of my favourite bands has done a cover.
David Draiman has such a soothing voice, even with so much power behind it, he still carries this song well. The emotion portrayed comes through. You could say I am biased due to loving this song since I was a child.
I feel that Disturbed kept the slight haunting feeling in the vocals and the melody itself. Disturbed have a piano playing the acoustic at the start of the song. Which I feel was a perfect touch. David projecting his voice closer to the end of the song is beautiful, shows his true talent as a vocalist and that he isnt all about growling and shouting. Sends a chill down my spine.
What makes this song even more special for me is the fact it is a video made by them. It has the band members in it, not their mascot. Its not political. Its a song sung and played with passion.
I haven't listened to the original in so long, but as soon as I played this, I felt emotion grow inside me, remembering how much I loved the original.
I will add the original
Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence (1964)
This way, you can listen to both and see just how amazing both of them are. Disturbed really did the song justice. In my opinion.
I hope yoou have enjoyed this song as much as I have, since I was a little girl.
I now have more time on my hands to post more! I will do my best to update frequently.
This one will get you up and dancing. I hope!
GRANRODEO - Can Do
I heard this song back last year when I was in Tokyo. I was watching latenight TV, and an anime came on. Kuroko no Basuke. Now, it was all in raw Japanese and I had NO clue what was going on. I decided to watch and it amazing. This is the opening theme for season 1.
No matter how many times I listen to it, I want to get up and dance. I even do a jig in my seat if I am sat down! It is so upbeat and lively, makes you ready for anything, You can do anything.
The video for this track is as I expected it would have been, basketball being played in the background. The musicians bouncing around as if they are going to explode with energy. The vocals are so powerful, the whole band are feeding the energy through the music and making us want to throw our arms up and dance around.
I get so much of it from this song, I just want to dance. Jump around and go crazy - and not care who is looking.
I love songs like this, pumps me up, ready for the day, gives me the feeling I can do it! We can do it!
I absolutely love this band now after hearing a few of their tracks. I hope you give them a listen, I will be posting more of their songs up soon!
I hope you enjoy this song as much as I have! And get dancing. You can do it!
This is an interesting one. I have been wanting to post this for a couple of weeks, but the recent events have made me press the button.
It is very fitting with the situation.
Disturbed - Open Your Eyes
As we all know, Disturbed became slightly serious and a bit more political before they went on hiatus. They made songs about real problems like suicide and corruption. Their comeback has a similar style, if not more focused on the latter. I completely agree with passing a message on through music, people listen and take it on board. I feel his vocals are powerful enough to make people listen.
Like I said, the past few months, I heard this song and I felt I could relate a little. In recent days, events happened that has made me want to post this. I never post my political opinion or my opinion on such events. The most I feel comfortable doing is posting this.
It is clear what the message is, don't listen to everything the media throws at you. Open your eyes and see the lies you are being fed - not just by the media. Maybe, in some cases, not complete lies, but fabricated to make it a lot worse than it is to make you feel more hatred and turn against others.
The music to this track makes me think. The way its paced. I think that is the whole idea. I think David Draimans vocals work very well with this style of music, I do however miss their old stuff. I miss his oh-wa-ah-ah-ah!
I hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as I do.
A/N
I don't want to make this political, I don't want to argue what is right and wrong. I am simply posting this to make people aware and hope they realise that the media doesn't give you the whole truth, and to take everything they say with a pinch of salt.
I decided to pick a song from a game OST this time. I feel they don't get enough love.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Limit Break!
I find this song doesn't hugely fit in with the rest of the OST, which is why I like it so much.
You know its for a boss fight that is a pain in the backside due to it being a heavy metal/screamo style track. You're in for the long-haul so you need a good heavy track that will give you fighting spirit!
I love this soundtrack as a whole, I love how its peiced together. A lot of the songs are serene, but then those songs have an "aggressive mix" or are changed due to the nature of the game. A paralell time. Same area, just a different time, give it the same track but change it slightly. I think its so we know its a different time. Could be, or they just wanted a really long-ass OST haha!
I feel there are a lot of emotions put into the tracks too. Like this one has the fighting spirit. Others give you a lonliness feel. I will get around to writing about those another time!
I really should play the game myself, I watched others play it. That was enough for me. I hope they bring it out in a collection for the PS4 sometime. I will definitely pick it up then.
I was browsing Youtube, like you do, and this particular song came up in my suggestions. Never heard of it before so I went and had a gander, and where we are!
Big Bang - If You
This song starts off with a very sad melody, which stays consisten throughout the song. The first vocals I believe is T.O.P? Who is the bands rapper. Which I find is very intestesting. Throughout the whole song, there is not a single rap break. This, to me, shows the full emotion of the song as a whole and how important the concept is for them all. T.O.P's vocals aren't perfect harmony, but I find that they portray the emotion very well. Personally, I think he should try and sing more. A lovely deep voice.
All of the other vocals are amazingly emotional, making the listener feel the sorrow and pain in the lyrics. The reason I picked up and wrote about T.O.P's vocals is because it was perfect for starting the song. Creating the melancholy and broken feeling to the song right from the get-go.
This particular video has the English translation. It is quite clear that it is about a break-up or losing someone they loved. I think a lot of us have been there, feeling broken, feeling regret. Doing silly things because we want to mask the pain, like alcohol and such. Luckily, I have never felt the urge to overdose or take drugs after a break up, but that doesn't mean others haven't. Losing someone like that can destroy people. Especially when they start to think on how their relationship was, and they knew they were at fault (to a point, it takes two to tango.) We all blame ourselves to some extent. The video shows each of the boys dealing with this emotional pain, its a very sad song.
Once again, Big Bang have showed their talent and it is amazing. It is very difficult to portray these kind of emotions and not over-do it and make it overly dramatic. All of their voices work harmoniously together and it creates something beautiful, something that touches peoples hearts. Well done to them, keep it up.
I have been quiet lately, but its back to listening to music!
This particular song came on a playlist I was listening to on the app 8track.
Moumoon - Chu Chu
I found this song on a playlist, which no-longer exists apparently, while I was on my way to work.
This isn't something that I would normally listen to. At first I skipped it, then it re-played the list and actually listened to it and I found it a pretty decent song. It is slightly bouncy in terms of beat and feel to it. Whenever I feel rubbish or need a lift in mood, I put this song on.
The song gives the feel of happiness and love. Chu is "kiss" in Japanese, so roughly, the song is about wanting to kiss. Its cheesey, but adorable at the same time. We all have had that moment, if you haven't, that day will come.
Looking at the lyrics, it is a song about being head over heels, that cute - but for everyone else annoying and gross- feeling of being in love with someone. More or less.
This puts me in a fantastic mood, because the emotion this song is pushing though, is an amazing feeling. I love feeling it.
I thought I would just share a name I had never heard before and have come to love. Such a cute lady too! I hope to post more of this band up at some point!
I have come with something thats a little bit different from my usual recommendations.
Let's see what we have here..
Uniklubi - Haudattu
This is a new one for me. I haven't written about any songs from Europe much.
The song starts off with a nice melody, along with nice guitar. The vocals come in softly, they stay that way throughout most of the song. Which I always find a nice touch to a track like this. Strong guitaring and/or distortion with soft vocals is always a personal favourite of mine. It makes it easy to listen to. A nice relaxing song - close your eyes and let the harmonious singing take your worries and stress away.
I would like to point out - when the vocals started, I thought it was Ville Valo from HIM. A very similar sound. This is not a bad thing. I find it quite a unique sound. The feeling of emotion and passion can be heard through the small changes in pitch which I think a lot of vocalists find difficult when making a ballad of somekind.
What makes this song truly beautiful - is the language.
I am a sucker for songs in a different language. True, I don't always understand, but it is amazing how much we understand through the feel of something. Before I read the lyrics, I felt a tinge of lonliness and heartache - reading the lyrics. I wasn't far off, if the translation is correct... The melody of the song and the vocals made it feel like a sad song. Beautifully written.
This is what I love about music, though. It is open for your own personal interpretation of it. It doesn't matter if you can understand the lyrics, what matters is how it makes you feel. No-one can tell you otherwise.
This track is a beautiful piece of work. I am so glad my friend sent me this.
I decided to return with a friend recommendation. Something very different from the previous posts.
(I just learned this band is from Milton Keynes, UK. A local band! Fantastic!)
TesseracT - Tourniquet
This is a band I have not really listened to much. I have been meaning to have a listen but I end up getting distracted and forget.
My first impressions of the song - relaxing, easy listening, emotional. I think this pretty much sums up this song as a whole. The melody starts off- and keeps a slow, calming rhythm throughout the whole song. The vocals are quiet, almost a whisper through most of the song. The vocalist lets out a higher pitch which almost seems angelic. He never lets himself get louder than the guitar. I find this skill to be very difficult for a lot of vocalists. A lot end up turning it into a strange wailing sound and end up drowining out the rest of the band, but this was very well done.
As the song progresses, the vocalist gets louder in time with the other instruments coming in. His voice filled with passion. I can feel the emotion that has been put into it. The bass gets a small solo, its not hugely technical, but I feel it is to return the song back to its calming state. Closer to the end the guitaring starts up again.
This is a great way to end a song, in my opinion. It is definitely something I could listen to while studying or just on a wind-down after a day at work.
The lyrics - To me, they talk of a love. Someone they feel they cannot live without. They "stop the bleeding" - stopping the life draining from them, as it were. This is just my personal interpretation of the lyrics. Whether this is what they mean, I don't know. We would have to ask them!
In contrast to their other music. I listened to a little earlier. This could be classed as a masterpeice of their work. I thoroughly enjoyed this track. I even went out of my way to listen to more!
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. I wouldnt mind hearing what you lovely people think of this.
Time for another post. This one is a bit different from the ones I have posted previously.
First of all its not Korean or Japanese! Haha!
Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song
This song hold memories for me. I first heard this a good few years back. Had some fun people around me, luckily I still keep in contact with them!
This song is beautiful for its vocals and acoustic guitar. The vocals are quite powerful along with the gentle acoustic. I always think of fantasy worlds whenever I listen to this. A realm where Bards exist and would play music in a tavern or something of that sort. Gets me in the mood for wanting to play games such as D&D, Skyrim or even Final Fantasy XIV. I play as a Bard hehehe. I can always imagine a Bard playing this.
I love the little solo bit too, makes me want to dance around the room to it. ^_^
Traditionally, a bard would sing of the adventures and brave tales of heroes and warriors. Those that cannot tell the tale themselves.
I like how the lyrics stay true to that idea that the Bard's song will remain. Even when you're scared and feel alone. The songs will comfort you. The people who fought bravely will never be forgotten as they live on in the songs of the Bards.
I am back. I keep meaning to pos up but I get side-tracked with other things. Sometimes I find it very difficult to put things into words. I have a few posts lined up which I hope you will enjoy!
We are back with this tremendous song.
Bump of Chicken - Zero ゼロ
I absolutely adore this song. There is another version of this track which I will include in a while.
I only found out about this band when I started playing Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Remaster. I wish I had heard of them sooner! I love the vocals, he has a unique sound. The rest of the band work so well together to create a harmonious melody.
Bump of Chicken - Zero ゼロ (acoustic)
This is the version that is played on the video game. It brought me to tears, the melancholy feel to it, the story that was being shown during this track was heartbreaking. It is mentioned quite a lot in the game, I think it was mentioned as a lullaby - I will have to brush up on that.
In both versions on the song, the vocals are quite poweful, filled with emotion and passion, as though the words have a great meaning. Throughout the original, the melody gets a little more powerful as the vocalist does, becomes a bit more upbeat. In the acoustic version, the melody is more solemn and emotional. These two songs I love relaxing to. I close my eyes and feel myself smile at the subtle sounds in the song, the vocals aren't too powerful that you can't relax but they push the emotion through. I have, at times, felt emotional. I do that when I love a song. Haha!
I just read the lyrics on the Final Fantasy Wikia and I have to say...that is quite depressing if the translation is correct. The lyrics are sad, but they have a tinge of hope. They are realy sweet. However, I will not post unless I know the lyrics are legit.
I do urge you to listen to both of these versions and form your own opinion on them. I love both - I think they are both as amazing as each other.
I hope to post more about this band as they are very talented.
This is a good recommendation as I already love this song. It is not the greatest. I know he has done better but this gets stuck in my head, I always sing along and dance away. I am currently dancing along now!
This was his first solo debut so we shall cut him some slack.
This song starts off up-beat and gives the vibe of a song that will make you dance. And it delivers! Considering the lyrics, it is still an upbeat song that gives a happy feel. Obviously, if you understand Korean it is a different story. But if you are after a song that makes you want to dance a little, this is on the list.
The song is about a break-up or rejection I think that is obvious haha! being called Heartbreaker and all.. Some of the lyrics are "you say you don't like me, what's the reason why?" and it goes on to "you say that I have changed" I think that answers the question!
Interesting outlook on a reason as to why relationships end. This happens often and people demand an answer. "You changed." people will always change, but whether it be for the better or worse, it affects how people feel about you. It is a nice insight.
GD has a lot of talent, and he shows them quite well in this song and video. I do love his dancing, he needs to do it more. Haha!
I have another recommendation from a friend. I don't remember which one though. They should own up to this one!
Big Bang - Bang Bang Bang
I remember someone asking me to write about this one, I wasn't sure if he was serious. But here it is! So I was sat here, remembered and decided to put it on. Well. To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So much energy in the music and the performance (in the vid) I pretty much started dancing from the get-go. The intro brings in the idea that this is going to make you dance, whether you like it or not. I know that if I heard this in a club or a party I would dance all the way through. Grind against my partying pals- like most ladies do when they are out with a group of friends. haha! I listen to this and imagine people gyrating against each other. An amusing thought, but probably what happens! The music gets you pumped up, ready for action, great gym workout music or partying. Either works!
The video shows a huge amount of energy and great visual effects. I don't really have too much to say on that. lol.
I have no idea what the lyrics are - but who cares right?
I will admit, I have yet to be disappointed by a Big Bang song. New challenge- disappointment me! Mwahaha - or not. Your choice!
Keep the recommendations coming. Hope you enjoy this track as much as I did. I was dancing throughout the whole thing, and now it is stuck in my head. Hurrah!
I have been looking for music. Luckily, I have music enthused friends. ^_^
Exo - Growl
I am not entirely sure what I think of this song. I have listened to it a few times to try and work out what I want to say. Nothing is coming other than - I personally don't find it memorable. It has a repetitive backing, which I find a slight irritation after a while. I'm not saying it is a bad song, it just isn't as catchy as the other Kpop songs I have listened to in the past. It is good that it breaks up the repetitive backing after a while and goes into some rap. But it then slides back into it. However, it does make for some backing music for studying or some other work, I wouldn't turn it off as soon as it came on. I can see people may listen to this to relax to, or to even unwind/cool down at the gym.
The choreography is very good but again, its not as active as other bands or songs. Maybe it is just this particular song choice? I am sure there are plenty more EXO songs that people can recommend me. This is just one song, out of dozens.
Please be assured that this is not a bad review - I have tried to not be negative. It is a good track, just not to my taste.
Long time no post. I have been busy with studying and lots and lots of Destiny but we shall move on from my addiction haha!
Onwards with the music!
Girugamesh - Break Down
Album - Music (2008)
Well, what can I say. This song, I feel is pretty iconic for this band. It was probably the first song I heard by this band. Long ago I had my opinion swayed by someone and basically convinced me to not like this music. I recently listened to them and holy mother- I have been missing out.
I saw them live last year and I was gobsmacked. The atmosphere was amazing, everyone joined in, whether it was dancing and singing along, creating moshpits or just bopping their head at the bar. Everyone got involved. the band held so much energy and clearly enjoyed what they were doing. I was thoroughly impressed. I miss them.
I say this song is iconic because when it comes on, anywhere, such as other gigs as warm-up music or in a concert itself - people go mad over it.
I have found some of their songs are sung in English, unfortunately I am unable to determine which ones. Apologies. But I find it very impressive for a band to sing in two languages.
This song always makes me want to dance and / or thrown myself around. Or both! Such energy is passed on through their music.
I do recommend listening to a lot of their music. It is quite difficult to ascertain which genre they fall into - quite frankly, I think they have their own.
I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do, and hope you go looking into their music! If not, I will be posting more at some point anyway!
Where do I start? This song is amazingly fun to listen to. It puts a smile on my face every time I hear it, it also likes getting stuck in my head for days. I have been known to be singing this while at work!
This particular artist, I love her choreography more than her vocals. However, in this particular song she shows her vocals off well. Her hip movements are to be envied, personally. Sometimes I wish I could dance like her, just to say I can! Haha!
I know a lot of my friends like this song. I can see why, for many different reasons. Beautiful lady singing and gyrating her hips a lot showing a lot of flesh? Haha, I kid! I do think they like this song because its happy, and just makes you want to dance. The video is full of colour and smiles, it also has a slight 90s feel to it. Maybe that is just me though.
I also like to sing this song while waiting for my order of bubble tea- I am not sure why.
I would like to take a trip into her other songs too someday! She has so many that I love. I will post them in the near future!
Hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. Always makes me feel happy and in a dance-y mood!
I have another recommendation from a friend. Asked personally I might add! hehe.
Okay- ONWARDS!
Big Bang - Loser
This song is actually quite interesting to me. From my past experience of listening to Big Bang, they were quite upbeat and love song. This one seems to go in the opposite direction, the imagery on the music video clears that point up nicely.
It is a nice sound, in my honest opinion. It is calm, which is what I would expect from a song like this. Quite sorrowful. When you read the lyrics, they are quite...hard hitting. The melody of the song fits the lyrics perfectly as I feel when you are in that state of mind- everything seems slower. A lot of bands put the feeling "loser" or melancholy to hard, fast, thrashing around music as if its anger. It is not, and this gives off the feeling that they are slowly declining into depression - leading to suicide, or wanting to be dead.
As much as this song is depression, it is absolutely beautiful - for that reason. It is quite refreshing to hear a band sing a song about these darker feelings instead of happy love is everywhere. There is a huge difference between a song like this and a song about a breakup. Or maybe this is just a song about love/breakup and is just very dramatic. haha!
I am so glad I was given this song. It is something I can sit and listen to, thoroughly enjoy. It is a nice, easy listening song. Hope you enjoy it!
I decided to write yet another band post. Mostly because this band has importance to me. So many good and bad memories, it has brought things into my life.
Let's start from the beginning shall we?
Versailles - Revenant Choir - 2007
I remember waiting for the clock to tick over to when this song was released. Sounds lame I know, but it was worth the wait. This is the first single from Versailles. I found a cut version due to the speech at the beginning can get rather annoying.
I love how this song dives straight into the heavy drumming and guitar. So much skill from the members in this band. The vocals stay strong throughout the track, Kamjio has a very powerful voice and is carried well. The music and vocals work well together to bring an amazing first single.
I will just be showing you my favourite songs.
Versailles - Red Carpet Days
Again, another song that jumps straight into the heavy guitar and drumming. At live shows, this always got the crowd going, everyone jumping around and getting hyped for the rest of the concert. I remember the band being highly enthusiastic when they played this- I think it was more to get them warmed up! The solo's are near perfection, they are created and played by both guitarists. A lot of people claim it is just Teru or just Hizaki, but in actuality, most of the "solos" are played together. They are far too complex to play on their own. True, they do have a solo each, but you can tell the difference. Again, Kamijo's vocals are strong and carry through the song. I find his vocals are quite unique.
Versailles - Amorphous
I feel this song is slightly underrated. The violin gives this song a whole different feel. Whenever I hear it, it makes me want to dance around whilst singing along. I love this song, it gives off a sad feel, yet it is also quite upbeat? It was refreshing to hear something other than the heavy metal and powerful vocals.
Versailles Philharmonic Quintet - Philia
This song was the single that came out before their Album Holy Grail, which in my opinion, was one of the best. To me, it feels as thought they finally found their sound, heavy metal with opera-esque vocals. Kamijo seemed more comfortable in this song and onwards which gave him more powerful vocals. This was also the first album to be created with Masashi - the bassist.
Versailles - Thanatos
I would like to bring attention to the bassist - Masashi. This song was written by the newly appointed bassist. Personally, I love it. Truly impressed. Maybe I am biased as I love bass? The band sound doesn't change, even though it was written by a new member. The guitar is still powerful and beautifully melodic, the vocals still send tingles, the drumming is changed slightly to work with the bass properly. All in all, I think it went well - again, I feel it is underrated as a song.
Versailles - Ayakashi
This is the final song I will be posting, simply because it is my ultimate favourite. Again it was written by Masashi. The heavy bass, the traditional melody mixed in with heavy drums. The extremely skilled guitar kicks in properly. It just gets heavier and heavier as it goes into the song, it all quieten downs then in comes the beautiful, yet slightly haunting vocals. I never saw this song live, I wish I had. It was played at their final live. I bet the atmosphere was breath-taking. The whole song is powerful. I feel it was their best creation. It flows well. All in all, the song works well to make people feel emotions and I feel that is the whole point in music. This is my favourite song by Versailles.
I have noticed I haven't mentioned Yuki a lot, this is because I feel his talent as a drummer is too much for words, in my honest opinion. It is apparent in all of the songs how much he loves doing what he does, throughout the years of Versailles, his skill got better and better. I think the best song he shows his talent is playing alongside Masashi in Ayakashi.
This is my personal opinion on this band, as I said earlier, it has importance to me.
I have another band post. Well, its more of a musician appreciation since TM Revolution was mostly just Takanori Nishikawa. I do like doing the band ones, mostly because I get stuck when choosing one song to write about...this way I get to write about multiple!
Onwards!!
TM Revolution - Zips
Highly frustrating that I am unable to find the actual video for this song. It is pretty awesome in my opinion. This song was made for a Gundam series- which again - in my opinion, is awesome.
TM Revolution have done a lot of Gundam Soundtracks. They are catchy and make me want to dance. Not to mention that I always think of the series when I hear the music when listening to my MP3 Player. Personally, I think that is good music.
This happens to be one of my favourite songs by TMR, I do love a lot of his music, but this one seems to be played more. Haha. I like listening to it first thing on a morning because it has a nice build up at the beginning as if getting yourself set up for the day. Feel epic. I also like having this on during workouts, if I feel I can't do anymore, play this and I automatically push myself and keep going. Try it!
A friend suggestion for the next song!
Vestige
Again, another Gundam soundtrack song. This was for Gundam Seed Destiny. One of my favourite Gundam series! I find this song is quite calm and also quite powerful. The lyrics are quite beautiful too. I guess I am quite biased because I love the Gundam Soundtracks. Haha.
This next song I was probably one of the first ones I heard by this musician - again it is a Gundam track! Haha!
Ignited
At the time I didn't know it was from an anime series. I stumbled upon this after listening to Hot Limit a few times. I was highly amused. Again this song makes me feel awesome, very upbeat and can make someone feel like they can accomplish anything.
Overall - I love this band / musician. The songs always make me feel something, even the sad/love songs.
I just realised how many times I wrote Gundam on this. haha!
This is an amazing song live. My friends got me into this band simply because I wanted to go to a concert and missed them, they introduced me to the song Monolithand it satisfied my need for heavy music. I do appreciate heavy music, growling, screaming, heavy distortion. It's a weakness. The reason why I liked this band was because it was all of that - and more. I love the synthesis added in to slot it into a completely different genre. I am not entirely sure what genre it comes under haha!
So with Monolith under the belt, I decided to not listen to anymore until I went to the concert. The atmosphere was brilliant. Everyone was involved and enthusiastic. I guess having a few other bands on before was a huge help in getting everyone hyped and pumped up!
I will never forget when Omen played. I loved this song when it was done by Prodigy, I danced and sang along with everyone in the venue. I mean, everyone.
This band is a very Live orientated band, they thrive off the fans, encouraging them to create moshpits in the crowd.
Even out of the live shows, I listen to the music on my MP3 player and I turn it up and feel like I am back there. The urge to mosh and throw myself around is strong, but I resist....in public. Inside the house it is a different story!
I am impressed at how popular this band has become in the West. They were even played on Radio1! A lot of Japanese bands come over then leave and usually don't come back. Not Crossfaith. They come back time and time again, touring the whole country, not just the Capital. They love the UK, I think. I really must try and see them again when they return.
I think if you are into heavy, throw yourself around, music. Then give this band a try.
Hope you enjoy this band as much as myself and my friends do!
I found this band after JPU Records announced they were coming to the UK. It isn't often that a Japanese band comes to the UK - the fans get excited a lot when it does occur.
So here we go.
Scandal - Kagen no Tsuki
This song starts off amazingly - and stays amazing throughout. These lovely young ladies have great talent. The vocals are cute, and not being too high pitched. One of the girls have high vocals but I think it adds to the band very nicely.
This song automatically makes me dance. I love it, I am really glad I listened to this band. The riff is so catchy that it will probably stick in my head.
Great talent - let us not forget their style either.
They have sold out the UK concert - that is impressive if I do say so. I haven't heard many JRock bands have sold out shows. Only ones I know of are X-Japan, L'Arc-en-Ciel and One OK Rock. Well done ladies!
I hope you support these ladies. The more support they receive the more they will come over!
I haven't posted in a while. I have been distracted by books lately!
Back to music!
2NE1 vs. Paradiso Girls - Pretty Tequila
ft. Lil Jon [untiltled mashup remix]
My friend sent me this song and asked for my thoughts on it. I clicked on it and saw 2NE1 which is cool, because I like the band, then I noticed it was Paradiso Girls too. I have never heard of these people, the word remix got mixed in and I was automatically thinking "oh man..what is this going to be"
Turns out - a very good song.
I like the mix of the two groups. I'm not entirely sure what I like about it, it is very hard to place. I did find myself dancing along, and I listened to it more than once. My internet crashed and it started from the beginning again and I didn't mind. What I do like is how it lets you hear both vocal talents. Normally when you hear a track like this, it is very much mostly just one band and the other just appears every now and then. This one they all have a chance of being the centre. The music itself is pretty cool too. Makes you want to dance. Which is the whole point!
This song starts off funky and keeps it up throughout. Its a great track because it makes you start dancing from the start, and just carry on. If this came on in a club I would definitely dance to it all the way through.
The melody is catchy and gets stuck in your head - I have actually danced to this randomly when it appeared in my head. I think that was its aim - well done! You achieved it.
This would also be great as gym / workout music. Keep going, don't stop! dancedancedancedance! It is such an upbeat song it brings a smile to my face. I love it.
Also reminds me of Gundam music. Which is even more awesome. ^__^
Hope you enjoy dancing to this as much as I have!
So I decided to look through some recommendations and I found this -
SunSet Swish - Mosaic Kakera
Code Geass (I do believe)
This song is beautiful. It has a very relaxing feel to it, the vocals are powerful enough to pass on the emotion into the song but soft enough that it is nice to listen to. Interesting that its a three-piece band.
This is the type of song that would be played while drinking cocktails or something.
Its interesting, when I close my eyes I get memories of really fun times with friends. Its what I like about this. I read the lyrics once thinking this and it mentions forming pictures - memories.
I am so glad my friend linked me this song. It truly is a beautiful song and I am thinking of looking at trying more of SunSet Swish music.
I ordered the new single from GOTCHAROCKA and it arrived today!
I absolutely love this band I have every album and single - there are a few missing that are concert only which I am disappointed that I cannot get hold of!
It just so happens that this band was made up of two musicians that were from bands that I loved before. Jun and Jui! They work so well together, I love the songs where they sing together.
I saw them live last year at Halloween, which has made my life so much better.
Enough of ranting - TO THE UNBOXING! fangirling!!

Just a random free band mag that they add into the box. It has bands in there that have upcoming events and such. Its nice to browse around and listen to different ones.
So there you have it, the unboxing of my new single! I will be posting about the songs once they are up on youtube and I can share them with you~ ^_^
I apologise for not posting much lately, I have had a lot of personal stuffs to deal with. But heyho! onwards!
So this is a song my friend linked me a few days ago. This is what I thought of it.
Beast - Breath
This starts off a soft melodic tune which gives me a feel of a sad love song or a ballad. Piano is quite powerful in ballads. Then income the powerful vocals of the "ooohhhhh woah!" Then in comes the dance-y bit. Made me think of Daft Punk which is brilliant. Instantly I started dancing in my seat. It has a slight upbeat feel, definitely would get up and dance to this if it came on in a club. The track is overall catchy.
The choreography is beautiful in this video. I do find that KPop has great choreography - generally.
The powerful vocals keep appearing throughout the track reminding you it is a love song - I think about a breakup, feeling like they cannot breathe without someone - or feeling suffocated. I'm not sure - I don't speak Korean! It still has the love song element in it, especially when it goes to the violin style synthesiser. The songs ends the way it started, soft yet emotional piano music.
Overall - I love this song. It is quite beautiful. Lyrics, melody and choreography.
This song is just so fun and happy to listen to. I find it quite uplifting and motivational - seems to be the pattern with a lot of music I listen to. This song never fails to make me smile, mostly because I found this track after watching the film HK- Forbidden Superhero. A film I can watch so many times and never get bored.
It was only after that I realised how big this band actually are. They are probably as big as One Ok Rock and the likes. Haha!
This song makes me do a little dance whenever I hear it. Makes me think of the film too - which is hilarious btw.
I don't really have a huge amount to say on this. Just that - its great vocals, great melody and makes me smile.
That is what I like out of music - to make me feel happy and think of great memories. ^_^
I have another friend recommendation..honestly I have been avoiding it. Mostly because I have no idea how I feel about it.
But here we go.
Exid - Up & Down
......
I am at a loss for words. It isn't terrible but I also feel very "what the hell?" about it. The song itself is hugely catchy, the vocals are a bit of a hit and miss. I can tell that the majority of them can actually sing, and probably very well - they are just choosing not to. You can tell from the chorus.
The choreography comes across as "sexy" and quite suggestive. It is done well, I can see the appeal.
The video I just do not understand. What is going on? I'm so confused. Haha!
This is not a bad review- the whole point of this video and song is to be fun. Which is it. I laughed, I even did a jig in my seat. It has done its job. The fact I listened to it all the way through and even more than once is enough to say I don't hate or dislike this. Weird and wonderful.
I am sure this band have more songs that would pique my interest a bit more.
Thank you for the recommendation! I had fun listening to it and trying to figure out what to say.
I have a slightly different music genre today. In the past they have been Japanese/Korean. This one is something out of my comfort zone which should be fun.
My friend has recommended Dubstep!
Let's get on with the music~
Juventa - Move Into the Light (ft. Eric Curran) (Kovan Remix)
Considering I have never really listened to much Dubstep, this is actually quite interesting for me.
It starts off quite melodic. The vocals are in fact quite beautiful. It makes me think of times when I walk through large fields, feeling complete serenity and enjoying life. This is completely different to the kind of "dubstep" I have heard before. The song breaks up into the "dubstep" sound - which personally will forever make me think "Robots having sex" it sounds very mechanical and unnatural. It doesn't ruin this track, I feel it fits in quite nicely. It is quite light on the effects it gives the whole track a change in tempo and stops it from getting boring and/or "chill-out" style.
The melodic side makes you feel relaxed it is a track you would hear going on a bike ride or doing some work at home. You probably wouldn't hear it in a club.
The video that goes with this I feel is quite powerful. Starts off with the children finding a dead man. They go on about their day like it is normal. Wearing gas masks shows that they are pretty much the only people left alive. They climb over a fence which protected them from the outside world, and play in a beautiful field. They are the light of humanity - they are to keep the species going.
Its a nice track to go with such imagery. This song is really beautiful.
I am pleasantly surprised by the recommendation. Glad it was sent to me.
The whole point of this blog is to listen and try different music- I have never been interested in dubstep, yet I tried this track and I really enjoyed it.
